ENGLISH VERSION

It’s been a while since that gold era of skate-punk which BELVEDERE was part of.

I sorta felt like we came a bit after the golden days. At least we weren’t a very good band during it, in the beginning

What’s the difference between that scene and the actual punk scene?

I think the big difference is the audience is older, with families and you have to try that much harder to get people out to the shows.  This is why I’m so thankful that people come out to our shows.

Who came with the idea of reunite the band after the hiatus?

A promoter who is also a dear friend to the band from Guelph, Ontario.  He finally said to me: it’s time. Then I started some conversations with the guys and found that everyone was into it.

Obviously, the expectation about your first album after the hiatus was big. Two years after the release of The Revenge Of The Fifth… how do you see the reception?

It’s exceeded my expectations, but Revenge is an album that I’m very proud of.  We put a lot into it and Ilove the way it sounds.

Latin America loves you, and this is no your first time here. In fact I remember when you played in Venezuela in 2004. What do you remember from your past visits?

I remember that Venezuelan show well, and I hope someday soon, there will be a time when it’s possible for bands to tour there again. The only thing I can say about South America is it feels like home when I’m there.

What do you like the most: to play in combined tours like We Are One and festivals? Or to play individual shows in which the fans are there only for you?

It’s a mix, I love playing these bigshows but sometime the odd basement or small show comes up and it’s just asmuch fun.  It’s all about your attitude and the people around you. If they’re stoked….I’m stoked.

Any plans of a new record soon?

I really hope that we can get to writing sooner than later.
