Entrevista con THE DEAD DAISIES

English Version.

Make Some Noise (2016) sound very laid-back and with a powerful Rock sound. What is the key to maintain this old school sound nowadays?

Thank you very much for this interview, first of all. John Corabi answers to you. We always say that we are not only a rock band, but also we are big fans of rock music, the classical stuffs. All the time we’re listening, you know, DEEP PURPLE, AEROSMITH, TED NUGENT, that kind of music that has influenced us since the beginning of our careers.

Being a band of such important musicians, with all that background, how was the dynamic in the studio? How the band members work their compositions?

Well, we are a band that enjoys a lot, whether in the studio or on stage. I always clarify that we are not a Super Band, we are a band that plays rock and roll with passion, we like to get together to compose songs and as persons we have become closer and closer.

How would you describe Make Some Noise in comparison with your previous albums? What do you think this record adds to the band’s catalogue?

Make Some Noise is a reaffirmation of who we are as a band. I would tell you that the main difference is given in how this album was composed. All of us together, in a brainstorm, exchanging ideas and musical arrangements. Personally I think I’m in one of my best moments to sing, I feel comfortable. And responding to your other question, I think we can rest easy, because the work we do on Make Some Noise is being very well received by our audience, who have taken our own songs with all the love and respect.

Do you think that nowadays the Rock music has lost something of its original attitude? If that’s so, what do you think that it’s the cause of it? are you trying to bring it back?

That’s a good question … I do not compare our music with the art produced by other people. In THE DEAD DAISIES we like the songs with good guitar solos, with lyrics that motivate you to think but to enjoy at the same time. It may be that other musicians interpret these ideas differently, which is quite valid as well.

You played in Cuba and from that experience the band released a record and a documentary. Is there any other country that you would like to visit and write about it?

The trip to Cuba was a such amazing experience. The people there were very warm to us, to each place in the we were, the public was coming to congratulate us, I can even autograph some MOTLEY CRUE and UNION albums, which surprised me a lot. And where else would I like to play, let me think … I would like to play all over the world, in all the countries that want to receive us.

Talking about Cuba and political things that inspire artists, have you ever been to Venezuela? Would you like to go there someday?

Venezuela is going through a difficult time. It’s not a subject I like to talk about a lot. Sorry.

It’s not easy to maintain a project that change its musicians so often and works with so many guest artists instead of a stable band. What is the hardest part of that? What is the best part?

We are a band; I think I made it clear in a previous question. Now we are and we feel a Rock and Roll band, that enjoys playing Rock and Roll live, for our audience. That’s the best part of playing with THE DEAD DAISIES. And I do not like to think about the bad parts.
I send you a big greeting all over Argentina through Rocktambulos. See you soon, my friends, to rock you with all our hearts and souls.
