¡Gracias!

Original English Version.

In your song ‘What Happened?’ you talked about the true old Hardcore values and how they were replaced by some pointless things like fashion and image. That song was released in 2008, does it still apply for today’s Hardcore scene?

We are no better than anyone else in the Punk Hardcore. We are still the same after 20 years of being in a band and respect everyone and other styles of music, but unfortunately there are  still a lot of pointless things like image and fashion for sure.

Agnostic Front’s “Old New York” it’s also a song that, along with H2O’s  ‘What Happened?’, have a little bit of a nostalgia factor in it. Of course it would be great that the new generations of hardcore and punk rock kids could feel and live the kind of brotherhood and camaraderie that you had back in your days. But, what positive aspects can you find in these new generations that you may have missed in your teens?

The Hardcore scene will never die and there will always be great people and great bands involved no matter what. Yeah, the “good old days” were great and it was a great time to be alive and to have been part of it. A couple things changed along the time but HC will never die and there is no way to compare to way back then. Still makes sense and places like Latin America have the same awesome vibes as in the 90s when we started it. We love Latin America.

In Buenos Aires you’ll be playing at Uniclub, which is a very intimate place where you can literally be in touch with the fans, which I asumme is what you love the most in your performances. When you play in festivals or in places where people can’t jump up on the stage and you can’t be near to them, do you feel that something is missing to the show or do you enjoy it anyway?

We prefer more intimate shows with kids stage diving and having fun, obvisouly! We love it! But if we have to play festivals with barricades it’s ok too. We do our thing and our fans always have fun anyways. We are the luckiest band for the fans we have.

You’ve made a clear statement in your song #NotRealLife. But i’m sure that in your shows there are kids filming you or taking pictures to later post it on Instagram or other social media. You don’t use any kind of metaphores, so your message couldn’t be clearer, nobody can say that they don’t understand the meaning of the lyrics. What do you feel when you see a person using their phone and paying attention to it instead of living the concert the way it’s supposed to be?

Well, I’m a pretty active person online with all social media but it’s crazy to see the kids seeing a show through the screen of the cellphone. Actually, Latin America is always the best with it. In Medellin, sold out show and almost no one was with their phones stuff! Everyone having fun and that’s the way it should be always.

In 1995 you were one of the bands that became the face of the new generation of Hardcore, in which band do you see potential to, in the future, become the next H2O?

There are great new bands that we appreciate and I think that the new H2O band, if you really want an answer for that (which I don’t really know) would be for example Angel Du$t.

Before to say goodbye, I must ask the cliché question: What can we expect for your shows in Latin America?

We love Latin America. We love touring here! Latin America has the most passionate fans ever! At least for H2O! Thank you!
